About the event
The Hothouse Playwright Open Mic celebrates new work by featuring six DMV-based playwrights selected from our Hothouse submissions, each sharing a 15-minute excerpt in a staged reading. As Theater Alliance’s incubator for new works, Hothouse centers local voices and bold storytelling, offering artists a platform to hear their work aloud, connect with audiences, and continue developing plays rooted in our region and community.
